Our Mission

A simple job, done properly

Bathers’ exists to answer one question well: where can you go, near you, to sit in heat, plunge into cold, or soak in mineral water, and what will you actually find when you get there.

That sounds small. In practice it is surprisingly hard to find out. Search for a sauna or a magnesium pool and you are handed sponsored placements, pop-ups, and pages built for search engines rather than people. The information you want is buried under the information someone paid to put in front of you.

What we do instead

We catalogue Australian venues built around heat, cold and water, state by state. Every entry begins as the venue’s own published account. Then we read it, check it, and tighten it by hand, so it tells you what is there, how hot, how cold, and for how long.

We do not visit every venue and pretend otherwise. We do not invent reviews. We document what the venue says about itself, carefully, and we say so plainly. If we do not know something, we leave it out rather than guess.

Who it is for

It is for the person who wants a proper sweat after work, the traveller looking for a soak in a new town, and the regular who already knows the value of an hour spent in warm water and quiet. If that is you, the directory is yours to use, freely, with nothing sold to you along the way.

That is the whole mission. Make it easy to find a good place to bathe, and get out of the way.
